Cleveland Museum of Art photograph collection
Scope and Contents note
This artificial collection contains photographs received by the archives from various sources but not as a discreet collection. It has been arranged into four groups: Cleveland Museum of Art related views and portraits (named individuals and groups) and Non-CMA views and portraits.
The primary arrangement is by the space or place if it is identified, such as the Fine Arts Garden, Armor Court, or gallery number. If the primary purpose of the image is to illustrate a person or groups of people it is filed as a portrait or group image and the event or space is identified secondarily if it is available.
Negatives are listed separately in the same arrangement as prints. In some cases there are negatives for a view or portrait, but no prints. Oversized images are stored in flat files and are listed by accession number, when available.
