This collection is a small group of photographs of artists by various photographers. Some folders contain multiple images. The group was apparently a gift to the library from James Porter. All rights are retained by the photographers. The Ingalls Library keeps clipping files on many of the artists listed. This is indicated by a "see also library clipping file" note in the file name.

Scope and Contents note Exhibition banners were displayed in the museum and outdoors around University Circle and downtown Cleveland to publicize current and upcoming major exhibitions. Most banners are made of vinyl although some of the earlier ones are canvas. Several are nylon or cloth. They have been rolled on cardboard tubes with unbuffered tissue paper to protect them. It has been arranged into four groups: Cleveland Museum of Art related views and portraits (named individuals and groups) and Non-CMA views and portraits. Slides from various offices depicting exhibitions, events, and views of the museum and museum construction. Included are a large number of exhibition installation slides from former museum designer, William Ward. Slides are stored in slide boxes in cool storage. Folder titles refer to the subject heading of a particular group of slides. Subject headings can include any number of slides.

Videos produced by and for the museum to publicize exhibitions and for other purposes. There are two digital copies of each video, one for reference and one to serve as the master copy.

The William Ward collection contains records of his work as museum designer and in the museum education department including correspondence, design project files, subject files, and records of the construction of the Breuer wing. The collection dates from 1946 through 1989.
