Slide packets were produced by the department of education for use by classroom teachers. Packets may include teacher resources, activity packets, slides, and booklets all based on a specific theme in a specially designed notebook.

Scope and Contents note Exhibition banners were displayed in the museum and outdoors around University Circle and downtown Cleveland to publicize current and upcoming major exhibitions. Most banners are made of vinyl although some of the earlier ones are canvas. Several are nylon or cloth. They have been rolled on cardboard tubes with unbuffered tissue paper to protect them. The museum began providing visitors the opportunity to comment on special exhibitions and permanent gallery installations in the 1990s. Comments are random musings and drawings. Some are not related to the museum at all but merely comments left because of the convenience of the books.Comment books were replaced by more formal questionnaires by the museum marketing department in 2011.

This is an artificially created collection of exhibitions organized and/or held at the Cleveland Museum of Art from 1916-1992. This collection combines records from all offices involved in the planning and execution of exhibitions. Offices are identified on file names or separation sheets within files. Exhibition files from 1992 forward are retained with the records of the offices of origin which are primarily unprocessed.

Scope and Contents note The Records of the Extensions Department detail activities of the department from 1916 until its closing in 1992. Some of the records include information up to 1996 but the bulk of the information is from the years 1950-1992. Scope and Contents note Dating primarily from the late 1980s through the early 2000s, this collection includes two series: 1) Text for label copy from special exhibitions and 2) permanent galleries. It also includes photocopies of labels that were removed from gallery walls during the museum renovation project in 2005. This is by no means a complete representation of museum object labels which may also be found in curatorial offices. The collection consists of four posters submitted by students of the Cleveland School of Arts to the museum under the auspices of Ralph King. The winning poster by Robert Roessler was to be used at the museum opening although there is no evidence of this, and the poster in the museum archives is an incomplete work.
