Arthur Hind collection

Scope and Contents note This collection of the research notebooks of Arthur Mayger Hind was transferred to the archives from the Ingalls Library in 2010. The collection was purchased for the library at an unknown date although it is assumed after the death of Mr. Hind in 1957.The notebooks consist of the handwritten lectures, research, and observations of the Keeper of the Department of Prints at the British Museum. This collection is a small group of photographs of artists by various photographers. Some folders contain multiple images. The group was apparently a gift to the library from James Porter. All rights are retained by the photographers. The Ingalls Library keeps clipping files on many of the artists listed. This is indicated by a "see also library clipping file" note in the file name.
