Scope and Contents

This collection documents the activities of the Notre Dame College Library Art Gallery from roughly 1998-2015. The bulk of the collection is comprised of exhibition records including fliers, press releases, newspaper articles, and photographs. The library's book bytes newsletters were downloaded from the library's website because they often include articles regarding the art exhibitions. The collection was donated to the archives in May 2024 when Notre Dame College of Ohio closed.

Biographical / Historical

Notre Dame College was founded in 1922 as a private Catholic college in South Euclid, Ohio. The Clara Fritzsche Library was founded in 1998 and served as both an academic library and a gallery. The college closed in 2024 due to a decline in enrollment, rising costs, and debt. The Cleveland Museum of Art acquired the art gallery records, while Lake Erie College acquired other institutional records.
