Cleveland Museum of Art Exhibition Banners.

Scope and Contents note Exhibition banners were displayed in the museum and outdoors around University Circle and downtown Cleveland to publicize current and upcoming major exhibitions. Most banners are made of vinyl although some of the earlier ones are canvas. Several are nylon or cloth. They have been rolled on cardboard tubes with unbuffered tissue paper to protect them. Cleveland Museum of Art Gallery Label Copy collection

Scope and Contents note Dating primarily from the late 1980s through the early 2000s, this collection includes two series: 1) Text for label copy from special exhibitions and 2) permanent galleries. It also includes photocopies of labels that were removed from gallery walls during the museum renovation project in 2005. This is by no means a complete representation of museum object labels which may also be found in curatorial offices. Slides from various offices depicting exhibitions, events, and views of the museum and museum construction. Included are a large number of exhibition installation slides from former museum designer, William Ward. Slides are stored in slide boxes in cool storage. Folder titles refer to the subject heading of a particular group of slides. Subject headings can include any number of slides.
