At the close of the show letters were written to artists regarding the retrieval of their entries. Artwork that was not picked up was destroyed. The list from 1956 documents objects dating back to 1931 being given a final chance for retrieval. Beginning in 1957, objects were disposed of on a preset date at the conclusion of the show.
