Scope and Contents note

From the Collection:

Scrapbooks were maintained by several museum departments including Education, Publications, and Public Information. All publication scrapbooks have been retained and each item contained in the books are described fully. Only the first two years of newspaper scrapbooks were retained in their entirety as examples of the types of news items that were clipped. Since most substantive news items are included in the library clipping files and archives vertical file, most newspaper scrapbooks were not retained. Note: for the oversize clippings there exists a preservation photocopy only. The originals were too degraded to retain for use. This collection consists of seven series: Education Scrapbook, 1947-1950; Fine Arts Garden Scrapbook; Public Information Newspaper Scrapbooks, 1921-1922, 1942-1943; Public Information Publications Scrapbooks, 1922-1954; William M. Milliken Twentieth Anniversary Scrapbook; William Ward Scrapbooks; and Junior Council (now Women's Council) Scrapbook.
