Biographical / Historical

Viktor Schreckengost was a prolific artist who worked as a designer, ceramacist, artist, teacher and more. Born in Sebring, Ohio, Schreckengost went on to attend the Cleveland School of Art and work for Cowan Pottery. In the 1930's he created the Jazz Bowl, commisioned by Eleanor Roosevelt to celebrate her husband's governorship, which became one of his most well known pieces. He also worked for Ohio Murrary Manufacturing company where he revolutionized designs for bicycles and pedal cars.
